Intelligence: Almost infinitely intelligent.

Just a note. The Dragon Sanctuary wasn't named that because many dragons live there. It was named such because it started as a safe haven for half-bloods with dragon heritage. Some pure-blood dragons live there, but not all. Try to spread them out a bit, if you don't mind.

I also have a note to add, specifically on the Silver Dragon as they are my personal favorites (a close second being the Steel Dragon for their similar personalities). I can grab information on all the others, as I have it and it is so desired.

Bear in mind I am directly quoting parts of the Second Edition Monstrous Manual...so it is rather dated. Granted, I doubt many differences exist in present volumes so...

Climate/Terrain: Tropical, sub-tropical, and temperate mountains and clouds.
Organization: Solitary or clan.


Silver dragons are kind and helpful. They will cheerfully assist good creatures if their need is genuine. They often take the forms of kindly old men or frair damsels when associating with people.

At birth, a silver dragon's scales are blue-gray with silver highlights. As the dragon approaches adulthood, its color slowly lightens to brightly gleaming silver. An adult or older silver dragon has scales so fine that the individual scales are scarcely visible. From a distance, these dragons look as if they have been sculpted from pure metal.

Silver dragons are not violent and avoid combat except when faced with highly evil or aggressive foes.

Silver dragons prefer aerial layers on secluded mountain peaks, or amid the clouds themselves. When they lair in clouds there will almost always be an enchanted area witha solid floor for laying eggs and storing treasure.

Silver dragons seem to prefer human form to their own, and often have mortal companions. Frequently they share deep friendships with mortals. Inevitably, however, the dragon reveals its true form and takes its leave to live a dragon's life for a time.

Silver dragons prefer human food, and can live on such fare indefinitely.

The silver dragon is a true friend to all. In fact, the silver dragon enjoys human and elf companionship so much that it often takes the form of a human or elf and lives among them for a large portion of its life. That doesn't mean that the silver dragon thinks that nondragons are similar in intellect or strength. Just like all dragons, they believe they are the most superior creatures in the world. Unlike most dragons, however, they do recognize their limitations, such as their huge size. They do cherish one ability unique to dragons: Silvers love to fly, and they can soar for hours through the cold, wintry skies.
